I’m a Detroit-based attorney that has spent most of my career building a habit of reading what most people don’t read, and refusing to treat the document in front of me as the whole story. I can’t witness an event without wanting to know the people, policies, and histories that produced it.

To me, context isn’t background. It’s the argument.

CriticalPost is where I work through the question; what produced this, and what does it demand of us? Subjects will vary. The question remains the same.
